COCIR
COCIR is the voice of the European Radiological, Electromedical and Healthcare IT Industry. COCIR is a non-profit trade association, founded in 1959, representing the medical technology industry in Europe.
COCIR performs the role of secretariat and accounting for IHE Europe.
The contract with the COCIR covers the organization of the connectathon by the IHE development project as well as the participation to the development of the Gazelle project.
IHE in USA
The United States of America is the initiator country of IHE Initiative. Launched in 1998 by the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) and the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), IHE has known a high increase since its beginning.
IHE in Japan
As an internationale initiative, IHE is also promoted in Japan as IHE-J. Many manifestations are organized in this context:
- Connectathon:
As organized in the United States, Japan has its own connection test, gathering several systems from different companies.
This is the occasion to evaluate whether connection is possible with the profile of IHE-J.
- CyberRad demonstration exhibition:
In April every year since 2002, the japanese team conducts the tutorial session and demonstration at CyberRad as IHE theme exhibition on the occasion of JRC (Japan Radiology Congress).
JRC is the joint scientific meeting of four organizations of Japan Radiological Society, Japanese Society of Radiological Technology, Japan Industries Association of Radiological Systems, and Japan Society of Medical Physics which joined in 2006.
- JAMI exhibition and workshop:
In order to promote IHE initiative, Japan Association for Medical Informatics (JAMI) holds exhibitions and workshops.
IHE in China
The team is contributing to the deployement of IHE in China.
Dr Zheng Jian-Li, Department of Medical Instrumentation, University of Shanghai for Science and Technology visited our team in September 2007 in order to learn how to organize a connectathon. We have transfered Kudu to IHE-China, teaching Dr Zheng how to translate the content in chinese. Dr Jian-li also learn how to use the Kudu tool. Following his stay in Rennes, Dr Jian-li will organize the first connectathon of IHE China. The connectathon will take place in Shanghai.
David MONTEAU and Eric POISEAU also met with Dr Jiwu Zhang from Carestream China. Dr Jiwu is involved in the promotion of IHE in China
The LIAMA, the joint laboratory between INRIA and the Chinese academy of Science could play a role in the developement of IHE in China. Contact with Pr Tianzi Jiang are in progress.
